Francois Sammut specializes in the fields of climate change, energy efficiency and renewable energy. He has worked on and managed projects for Government bodies, private companies and international development agencies. François has recently focused on the preparation of PINs and PDDs for climate change projects in the field of gas flare reduction, energy efficiency, renewable energy and waste management projects in Russia, Caucuses, Central Asia and Africa. He has been involved in delivering a number of JI and CDM capacity building programmes, and providing technical assistance in the identification, development and financing of climate change projects, including undertaking detailed risk assessments of proposed projects. He has also contributed to the preparation of two new CDM methodologies. Most recently he has been involved in the mapping of CDM needs in Angola, Tanzania and Uganda, in addition to reviewing two large hydropower projects and a transmission line extension in Western Africa with a view to evaluating the potential for registration as CDM projects. He is with the Carbon Limits based in Oslo and assist as expert on technical issues for the Nigerian office.
