Hesam Darani has been working closely on the field of climate change and emission reduction in different sectors, especially in the Oil and Gas sector. Previously, he has worked as a Petroleum production engineer for projects under development and operation as well as sustainable development projects. Currently with Carbon Limits; he has been involved in wide range of topics, including preparing PDDs and PINs for development of CDM and JI projects, and providing technical assistance in the identification and development of GHG abatement projects, developing monitoring plan for Emission Reductions for projects in Russia and Iran, including field visits and implementing audits in Africa, Central Asia and Persian Gulf. Recently, he has been participating in portfolio review and technical assessment of potential energy efficiency projects in the Kazakhstan’s upstream Oil and Gas sector with purpose of reducing level of GHG emissions as well as African carbon support programme for screening climate change abatement projects. Hesam Darani’s main focus is techno-economic analysis and development of emission reduction projects, with focus on the Oil and Gas sector, monitoring and verification plans for proper implementation of emission reduction projects, and providing technical assistance for capacity building and low-carbon growth projects. He is with the Carbon Limits based in Oslo and assist as expert on technical issues for the Nigerian office.
